Paul Dano – who plays The Riddler in Matt Reeves’ The Batman – has joined the collection of the film’s cast building excitement for the film, calling Reeves “the real deal.”
Dano spoke about the film with the Playlist, while discussing his 2018 directorial debut, Wildlife.
When asked about when he expects the production – which was shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic – to resume, he responded:
“I was filming. I flew home to visit my baby and then didn’t get to fly back [because of the pandemic], which is a really strange thing. But I feel really good about it. I think Matt Reeves is the real deal. I was really surprised by his script, which I think is, is potentially really powerful. Hopefully we’ll get to get back to it sometime soon. I’m not sure.”
Recently, Colin Farrell and Jeffrey Wright both praised the film, and expressed their excitement for the film’s take on the iconic characters. Farrell is cast to play Oswald Cobblepot, also known as the villainous Riddler, and Wright will be taking the mantle of Jim Gordon, though we aren’t sure if he will be commissioner yet in this film.
Robert Pattinson is set to wear the cowl for The Batman.
