The Witcher 3 is Coming To Next-Gen
One of the best games of this generation is making the jump to the next one, as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is getting a “visually and technically enhanced” version for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 in 2021. The new version will be a free update for players who already own the game on current consoles or PC.
CD Projekt Red Wants to Take Advantage of New Consoles
CD Projekt Red says they have been working on the next-generation version of the game “to take advantage of the most powerful gaming hardware.” The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition will have ray-tracing and faster loading times, along with all of the game’s expansions.

The updated edition will also come as a standalone purchase for PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5. Those who have already purchased the game physically or digitally will get a free update, which will upgrade the game for them.
According to Radek Grabowski, CD Projekt Red PR lead, the free update is “dedicated only to upgrading the current-gen version of the game when it is being played on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 hardware.”
There has been no official release date given for the new edition but it is coming sometime in 2021.
Their Next Game is Right Around the Corner
CD Projekt Red is also hard at work for the upcoming release of Cyberpunk 2077, which is set to come out on November 19th. The futuristic game has been highly-anticipated for years, enduring several delays in release. Should everything go according to plan right now, we will finally have our hands on the game very, very soon.
