Sony CEO, Kenichiro Yoshida, has said that the company will be unveiling its line-up of games for the PS5 “soon”.

Yoshida spoke as part of statement about corporate strategy, where he said: “We will soon be announcing a strong lineup of PS5 games.”

Many have been wondering about the line-up for Sony’s upcoming console and when we would get a glimpse at it. Sony’s silence on the matter has been in stark contrast to Xbox’s much more open strategy when announcing their Xbox Series X. Rumors have suggested that a PS5 event will be held in June, and many believe this statement to support that rumor, though Sony has not commented on it.

As part of the report, Sony also outlined the future of the company’s Game and Network Services department:

“The launch of PlayStation 5, scheduled for the holiday season of this calendar year will deliver even more immersive experiences on a game console. Higher speed, enhanced sensory perceptions generated by its revolutionary controller, and sound delivered in 3D audio will combine to realize truly next generation console game experiences unlike anything before.”

The closest thing we’ve gotten so far to seeing Playstation 5 gameplay was the recent tech demo released by Epic Games to showcase their new Unreal Engine 5. If the games look anything like that demo, we are sure in for a treat this upcoming console generation.
