With San Diego Comic-Con cancelled and moved to a virtual event, DC has announced their own virtual experience in the form of FanDome, a free “immersive virtual fan experience” that will be a 24-hour event on August 22nd. The event will allow fans to log in and see new trailers and announcements about upcoming DC movies, shows, comics, and games.

The virtual panels will include interviews from the people behind upcoming films such as Wonder Woman 1984, The Batman, The Suicide Squad, Black Adam, the Arrowverse, and even the Snyder Cut.

It looks like this will be DC’s replacement for their panels at Comic-Con, so it is very likely we will get some new footage, news, announcements, and more. We may even get some news about the rumored next game in the Arkham series.

Fans can access FanDome through DCFanDome.com. The site is being built around a Justice League theme experience, called the Hall of Heroes, with the site being divided into five main portals. These portals include DC YouVerse (cosplay and fan-created content), DC WatchVerse (virtual panels and screenings), DC KidsVerse (family-focused, interactive games), DC InsiderVerse (behind-the-scenes content), and DC FunVerse (comic reader app, downloadable activity kits, and an exclusive digital storefront).

DC FanDome: New Virtual, Fan Experience Announced

The site will also host a virtual party, called Blerd & Boujee House.

Ann Sarnoff, Chair and CEO of Warner Bros., gave a statement about the event:

“For more than 85 years, the world has turned to DC’s inspiring heroes and stories to lift us up and entertain us, and this massive, immersive digital event will give everyone new ways to personalize their journey through the DC Universe without lines, without tickets and without boundaries. With DC FanDome, we’re able to give fans from around the world an exciting and unparalleled way to connect with all their favorite DC characters, as well as the incredible talent who bring them to life on the page and screen.”

DC FanDome will officially begin at 10 A.M. PT on Saturday, August 22nd. It will run for 24 hours, and even offer multiple language options.
