EA: Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order Start of New Franchise

Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA, confirmed today that Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order will be the beginning of a new franchise.

This announcement came during an earnings call, where Wilson mentioned that Fallen Order is the “first title in an entirely new franchise.”

We can’t be too surprised by this fact given the massive success of the game last year. It was both critically and financially successful since it launched.

Respawn Entertainment, the developer behind the game, has posted job listings looking to fill senior positions on the Star Wars team, hinting that the company is working on more projects in the sci-fi universe.

Fallen Order was a new story told during the time after Order 66, when Jedi were hunted and banned. Players contolled Cal Kestis, a former padawan who went into hiding and is thrust into a dangerous adventure to save the Jedi order. Its unique blend of combat, exploration, and character progression marked one of the best games of the year, and one of the best Star Wars games ever.
